AUTHORS COMMITTED TO GIVING BACK TO OUR MULTILINGUAL COMMUNITIES

Hi friends,

As you know, amongst the different things that I do, I write and publish bilingual books for children (for the ones who are new here, I’m Elisavet Arkolaki 🙂 ). Acknowledging that times have been difficult for many families around the world during the pandemic and that not everyone is in a position to buy books for their children, together with some fellow authors (mini-interviews here!) we decided to offer the eBook editions of some of our books for free. Personally, I will be offering you all of my independently published bilingual eBooks for children + my guidebook for parents.

This will be a long-term commitment from our end, as it will be a recurring offer for 6 months (May till October). We hope you will grab this opportunity to read some wonderful books with your children, and that you’ll share this info with your local FB/Whatsapp groups, friends online and offline, language teachers, and schools that use any of the listed languages.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

-On the 1st day of each month, and for the next 6 months, the ebook editions of the following books will be available to download for free at 09:00 CET / 12:00 AM PDT for 24 hours on the 1st of May, 1st of June, 1st of July, 1st of August, 1st of September, 1st of October. Search for the titles at our local Amazon store!
-All you need to download and read them is an Amazon account (.com/.co.uk./.de/, etc) and the free Kindle app installed on your phone/computer/tablet.
-Are you a (language) teacher? You have our permission to use our books with your students.
-If you can leave a review on Amazon afterward, you will make an author’s day 🙂.

Disclaimer: I haven’t read all the books from the different authors listed here, and I don’t speak all these languages, so you will need to download the ones you find interesting to discover your new favorite books <3.

NONFICTION GUIDEBOOKS FOR PARENTS AND EDUCATORS

The guidebooks “How to Raise a Bilingual Child” for parents and “How to Support Multilingual Children” for educators are available permanently to download for free in English, Spanish, Italian, German, French, and Romanian for now, and more languages will follow. They are part of PEaCH -PEaCH is an Erasmus+ funded project- and not part of this campaign, but they are of tremendous value and as a PEaCH volunteer ambassador I ought to include them. How to Raise Confident Multicultural Children is an insightful parents’ guidebook to raising a confident, bilingual, and multicultural child. It includes practical tips and ideas from diverse professionals of mixed ethnic backgrounds who are bilingual/trilingual/multilingual themselves. The Toolbox for Multilingual Families

The Toolbox for Multilingual Families is aimed at parents who are raising their children with more than one language and are looking for activities to foster their children’s understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills in all their languages, no matter if they acquired them from birth or added them later on. The authors have selected 123 activities and games for 0-15+ year-olds – and adults! – that can easily be adapted to different languages, to all levels of fluency, and are suitable for two or more people.
