Ιn Guardia in Birgu, a Historical Re-Enactment of a Full 16th Century Military Parade

The in Guardia parade is a re-enactement that portrays an authentic historical event. It evokes the regular inspection of the fort and garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John in charge of military affairs. During the re-enactment the fort’s garrison (some 60 re-enactors in all), is dressed in its best uniforms and demonstrate its abilities in various military exercises.

The show lasts 45′ and takes place in St John’s Cavalier, Birgu (Vittoriosa) on particular Sundays throughout 2014 at 11:00-11:45am.
